A design project for a little girl's room

The room was quite narrow and long, with a single window on the narrow wall and a doorway on the longer one. Naturally, there was a radiator under the window, which had to remain unchanged in shape and position. Additionally, the investor requested that we leave some wall space for a small ladder.

So, on the longer wall, we placed a row of cabinets with a walk-in closet, under which we placed a fold-out bed. Children often enjoy a bed in such a small alcove, and my daughter was thrilled with it in this case.

The only desk space was under the window, which didn't bother the user. Plus, there was plenty of storage space and an open shelf for displaying her stuffed animal collection!

Purple, of course, had to be on the walls and ceiling, but surrounded by warmer and brighter colors.

We primarily used IKEA furniture for the design, along with wireless solutions like wall lamps to avoid cluttering the walls with additional fixtures. Our daughter loved the project, which is a huge success for us!

The little girl had a vibrant personality, loved animals, was smiling and full of energy, and her favorite color was purple—much to her mother's concern, who feared a purple interior would be cold, sad, and dark.

In addition, the room needed more storage, a space for the child to study, and, of course, a place to sleep. We created two functional and spatial layout concepts for the investor, one of which was primarily chosen by our daughter :)

Children's rooms are often their entire world — or at least they need to fit that world into the space. We believe that children's rooms should reflect the personality of their primary users — not the parents — and provide space for children to develop. Parents often want their rooms to be oversized — understandably for economic and practical reasons. Not everyone has the opportunity to renovate their child's room every few years.

A mother and her daughter came to us with this problem: the time had come for the child to start first grade, and the room needed to fulfill specific functions to support the child's school life.
