HARMONY
The small bathroom shares many elements with the master bathroom, but with more contrast: a black ceiling, black fixtures, and lamps.
The bathroom faucets are the same as in the large bathroom, but in a black version. Black furniture handles and wall lights add a subtle contrast.
The alcove shower enclosure is large and spacious, with a shelf for toiletries. The tiles in this bathroom are from the same series as those in the master bathroom, except for the hexagonal pattern.
In this way, with the help of the Yin and Yang philosophy, many discussions and interior design versions, we managed to reconcile the favorite styles of the investor couple, while at the same time making the interiors coherent and harmonious.
Chrome and white accents, hexagonal tiles became the wall décor. A freestanding bathtub mounted near the window visually added space. The countertop and legs of the washbasin cabinet were custom-made and covered with tiles – the investor desired a neat solution that would match the rest of the space, be easy to clean, and be water-resistant. All tiles used in the bathroom (except for the decorative element) are stoneware.
A similar design process took place when working on the bathrooms – this time, we separated Yin and Yang into individual rooms.
The master bathroom is larger, brighter, and free of significant contrasts. Neat, elegant, and harmonious – light gray-beige tiles, chrome fixtures, and a freestanding bathtub. A large window, opposite a large mirror reflecting abundant light, features a vanity unit that echoes the kitchen.
In the living room, a large, softly colored corner sofa takes center stage, set against large, bright windows. Opposite, a media wall features black slats behind the television, providing contrast while concealing the TV itself. Contrast also appears in the lamp colors – on one hand, they are mostly black, on the other, some have rounded, delicate shapes and serve as decorative accents even when turned off.
By using predominantly light colors and accents of black, we achieved a harmonious, spacious and artistic interior – investors can play with decorations in different colors and styles, and the interior will still be cohesive.
The kitchen is mostly white, with delicately framed fronts and open shelving in the corner, adding a touch of lightness to the overall design. The whole is topped with contrasting black granite on the countertop and walls.
In the distance, a black hallway adorned with a wooden wall map of the world. Real wood also appears in the furniture in the dining area – a beautiful, large wooden table, light in its form, with legs forged with black metal on the inside.
The first challenge arose during the consultation phase – she wanted soft, neutral, warm, and harmonious colors; he wanted contrasts and industrial elements. Even then, we thought it would be a good idea to delve into the Yin and Yang philosophy – with its help, we combined the contrasts and subtlety of neutral colors and materials into a harmonious whole.
A small development of single-family homes was being built on the outskirts of a large city, where young investors decided to write the next chapter of their life together. We were then asked to design several interiors for their new home – a living room with a kitchenette, a master bathroom, and a guest bathroom.
