Design of a green open space living room
We therefore developed two design concepts – both based on greenery, mountain views, wood grain accents, and additional lighting. They differed in the choice of materials, shades of green, and details – but they did not alter the existing functional layout that the family had developed over several years.
Additional lighting points were added, and the IKEA METOD kitchen cabinets received new fronts. We also designed a stoneware apron, which was not originally included but was requested by the investors.
The furniture on the media wall was custom-designed, visually dividing the functional areas. Part of the wall became a gallery of photos and travel memorabilia, and around it there was ample space for a collection of potted plants.
Behind the sofa bed, we designed a wallpaper depicting an abstract mountain landscape painted with watercolors. The pervasive light wood accents were intended to evoke a mountain sauna, giving the interior a cozy feel.
The open space living room with kitchen was shaped like a wagon – a long, narrow room with a window on one wall. The kitchen was in the darkest corner, with a sofa and TV wall beneath the window. We didn't plan to change the layout. However, the interior needed more light!
The investor also loved growing houseplants and wanted to find a representative spot for them. In addition, she wanted a place for family photos – including those from their travels.
Somewhere in one of Wrocław's many neighborhoods, a charming couple who enjoy hiking in the mountains asked us to renovate their living room with a kitchenette. Longing for spring mountain scenery, their main design goal was GREEN!
The image of a mountain hike, and after hours of hiking, ended up in a warm sauna, immediately came to mind. It's the feeling you get from a leisurely stroll among tall trees, the fresh, slightly cool air, the climb rewarded with beautiful views. At the end of the day, a well-deserved rest in the sauna, surrounded by the scent of dry wood.
